ERAP for Landlords
What is ERAP?
The New York State Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) will provide significant economic relief to help low and moderate-income households at risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability by providing rental arrears, temporary rental assistance and utility arrears assistance.
As a Landlord/owner you have 2 options to associate a tenant's application with your landlord/owner account:
1. Associate an application submitted by a tenant with a landlord/owner account
by entering the application number and tenant's date of birth
2. While logged into landlord/owner account, submit a new application. This
method will automatically associate the application with the landlord/owner account
As a landlord, you may submit an application on behalf of your Tenant; however, you should consult closely with the Tenant to make sure information is captured properly and with the Tenant's consent.
The tenant must agree to the application consent language and sign the application.
Landlords need to submit the following documentation to establish your lease, proof of ownership, and the monthly rent you are owed.
Direct deposit information
Executed lease with tenant applicant
Proof of Ownership- warranty deed, homeowner insurance policy, tax bill, or other similar document
Landlord Monthly Rent Confirmation Form
Affidavit for a property manager (if applicable) - Owner affidavit of property manager/agent as recipient of funds and management agreement
