Jeanne Guastaferro

Teacher, Retired Canandaigua Central School District

Marketing Committee Member

Jeanne Guastaferro spent 25 years as a high school special education teacher in the Canandaigua School District before taking on a role as a Student Teacher Supervisor at the University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Special Education from the State University College at Buffalo.

Throughout her teaching career, Jeanne worked with students experiencing homelessness and saw firsthand the impact that housing instability had on their academic success. When she learned about Family Promise of Ontario County in 2016, she immediately recognized its potential to support the students she encountered. She began by working with Ontario County school district liaisons to raise awareness about Family Promise as a resource and later joined the grant committee. She also served as the St. Benedict Parish coordinator for Family Promise’s original faith-based shelter model.

Since joining the Board in January 2022, Jeanne has remained a passionate advocate for Family Promise. When not volunteering, she enjoys working out, biking with her husband, Joe, and being the “singing grandma” to her 13 grandchildren.
