Ready, Set, Bed Race!



Mark your calendars, grab your teammates, and start decorating your beds. The annual Amazing Bed Race for Family Promise of Ontario County is back and bigger than ever!

What is the Bed Race?

It’s exactly what it sounds like, a race featuring teams pushing decorated beds on wheels down the race track, all in the name of fun and fundraising. This quirky, community favorite event combines creativity, teamwork, and heart, supporting the vital mission of Family Promise of Ontario County.

Event Details

📅 Date: July 22, 2025 

📍 Location: Ontario County Fairgrounds 2820 Co Rd 10, Canandaigua, NY 14424 

🕒 Time: 5-6 bed check in 

🎉 Who Can Participate: Families, businesses, schools, clubs, and groups of friends, anyone with a passion for helping others and a knack for fun!

Why It Matters

The scale and complexity of family homelessness in Ontario County continues to grow at a rapid rate, having risen 300% since 2020. Family Promise offers those who need our services not just with shelter, but dignity, resources, and a path forward. By joining or supporting the Bed Race, you’re helping provide:

  • Shelter Programs

  • Prevention and Diversion Programs

  • Case management

  • Long term stability planning- Stabilization Programs

How to Get Involved

✅ Race a Bed – Form a team, decorate a bed, and race for glory (and trophies)!

✅ Sponsor a Team – Can’t race? Consider being a  sponsor that supports our race and our mission. 

✅ Donate – Every dollar helps. Big or small, your contribution makes a real difference.

Highlights from Past Events

Last year’s race saw teams decked out in costumes from pirates to brides, raising over $28,997.00 for local families in need. The creativity, community spirit, and pure joy on display are what make this event such a memorable one and this year promises to be even better.
