Michelle Frey serves as the Shill Family Center Coordinator at Family Promise of Ontario County. Born and raised in Newark, NY, and now residing in Phelps with her family, Michelle brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her role.

With over a decade of experience in manufacturing and operations, Michelle developed a strong foundation in problem-solving, organization, safety, and teamwork. She is known for her ability to manage complex environments, troubleshoot challenges efficiently, and maintain high standards; skills that translate seamlessly into the day-to-day operations of the shelter.

Michelle’s journey with Family Promise is also deeply personal. Having experienced housing instability herself, she understands firsthand the challenges families face and the strength it takes to rebuild. This perspective allows her to connect with guests in a meaningful and compassionate way, helping to create a safe, supportive, and dignified environment for every family who walks through the doors.

Driven by a passion for helping others and strengthening families, Michelle plays a vital role in ensuring the shelter runs smoothly while fostering a sense of stability, comfort, and hope. She believes that even in the most difficult seasons, everyone deserves support; and that we are all, in one way or another, walking each other home.
